Direct answer
Three things have to line up: the overseas entity, the Brazilian tax ID, and the store.
What the review looks at is not “were the documents all submitted”, but whether a real, provable relationship exists between the three.
If you only use trade payment links or the PIX API, see the matching option: those two are contracted directly by a non-Brazilian overseas entity, need no Brazilian tax ID or store, and this document list does not apply to them. If you are not sure which route to take, start with how to choose a collection method.
Overseas entity: a non-Brazilian company that has completed onboarding and KYB. A Brazilian company cannot be the direct onboarding entity for Brazilian cross-border collection business.
Brazilian tax ID: a CNPJ (company) or CPF (individual operator). The CPF route is live and already in use by merchants, but it still has to pass the applicable review.
Store: needed to show a real operating relationship between the overseas entity, the tax ID holder and the store.
What the three things are
CNPJ or CPF
CNPJ corresponds to a company operator and CPF to an individual operator. Both routes are available; the choice depends on your actual operating entity and who the store belongs to, not on which one is “more advanced”.
What to prepare
1. The overseas entity
- Place of registration and full registration details
- Completed NexaPay onboarding and KYB review
- Company authorisation documents (used to sign the service agreement and authorise operations)
2. The Brazilian tax ID and its holder
- The CNPJ or CPF number and the corresponding holder’s identity details
- The CPF route is for individual operators; it is live and already in use by merchants
- The tax ID must be genuine, valid and in continuing use
3. The store and the operating relationship
- Store name, platform, store link or account details
- Evidence showing the link between the overseas entity, the tax ID holder and the store
- What the store sells, the expected sales scale and the main countries of trade
4. Business information that helps determine the option
- Operating platform and number of stores
- Expected monthly BRL collection volume
- How you currently receive funds, and the main pain points
Do not send sensitive material through public channels
Personal or company sensitive information such as identity documents and contact details should only be submitted through the formal application entry in the Merchant Dashboard — not to website forms, email, or the public positions of chat tools.
The online application flow
Sign in to the Merchant Dashboard and submit your application following the on-screen steps. The documents you need are listed on screen.
- Enter the Merchant DashboardNew merchants go to the registration page to create an account (email, password, mobile number and SMS code); registered merchants sign in and carry on.
- Fill in and submit the details on screenIn the account application entry in the portal, enter the registration place of the onboarding company, the Brazilian CNPJ (company operator) or CPF (individual operator), the operating platform, the number of stores and the expected monthly BRL collection, and upload the supporting documents as prompted.
- The system reviews automaticallyDocuments submitted online are checked automatically by the system. If anything needs to be added or corrected during the review, it is explained by system email and in the application receipt — follow the receipt back to the relevant application and continue there.
- Receive and manage funds once the account is openThe account supports PIX and TED credits; after they arrive you can manage the BRL balance, request a conversion and settle to your approved overseas account in the portal.
Timing expectations
This website makes no promise about how long account opening takes. The Merchant Dashboard shows the current status during the verification stage (under review, needs more information, or approved); the actual time taken still depends on the applicable institution’s review progress and how complete your submitted documents are.
Common misunderstandings
Misunderstanding“I will register a CNPJ and that is enough”
The CNPJ itself is not the point. What the review looks at is the real relationship between the overseas entity, the CNPJ / CPF holder and the store, and whether the documents can show that the business is genuine.
Misunderstanding“I can just use someone else’s CNPJ”
The account name has to match the approved CNPJ / CPF holder. Opening an account under someone else’s tax ID is a compliance risk, and it will not pass the relationship review either.
Misunderstanding“A CPF is for individuals, so it will definitely not work”
The CPF route is live and already in use by merchants. The individual operator route is genuinely available, but it still has to pass the applicable review.
Misunderstanding“If I submit everything, it is certain to be approved”
The account is approved independently by the applicable partner bank or payment institution. NexaPay submits the documents online and provides operational support, but does not make the approval decision on the institution’s behalf. Complete documents do not guarantee approval either; if something is missing, follow the system receipt.
How to start

- The system reviews automaticallyYour submission is checked automatically. Once approved, continue to open and use the product following the on-screen steps.
If you need to add or correct details
Check the system email and the application receipt and follow the instructions back to the relevant application. If you hit something the system cannot handle, use the contact option on the page.
